Meet Jess, one of our Occupational Therapists at Kind & Collaborative Empowerment. Jess is passionate about supporting individuals to achieve goals that are meaningful to them, build greater independence, and participate more confidently in everyday life. She believes that every person has unique strengths and abilities, and loves working alongside individuals to help them recognise their potential, develop confidence, and celebrate every milestone, no matter how big or small.

Jess has a special interest in paediatrics and sensory processing, and particularly enjoys supporting children and their families to navigate everyday challenges through practical, strengths-based strategies. She understands that every child experiences the world differently, and works collaboratively with families, educators, and support networks to create individualised supports that empower children to thrive at home, school, and within their community.

Taking a neuroaffirming and person-centred approach, Jess values building genuine relationships with the people she supports. She believes the best outcomes are achieved through collaboration, where individuals and their support networks feel heard, respected, and actively involved in the therapy journey. Whether supporting emotional regulation, sensory needs, daily living skills, play, or participation in meaningful activities, Jess strives to create a positive and encouraging environment where each person feels safe to learn, grow, and succeed.

For Jess, one of the most rewarding aspects of being an Occupational Therapist is witnessing the confidence that develops when individuals realise what they are capable of. She is passionate about empowering people to embrace their strengths, overcome barriers, and build the skills they need to live fulfilling and meaningful lives.

"I believe every individual has unique strengths and endless potential. Seeing children and families grow in confidence, celebrate their achievements, and reach goals that matter to them is what makes being an Occupational Therapist so rewarding." - Jessica Milne

If I wasn't doing this...

"I recently spent time overseas playing professional netball, and I love combining that with my career."
