THERAPY ASSISTANTS
More than just support work...
At Kind & Collaborative Empowerment, our Therapy Assistants play a vital role in supporting individuals to achieve their goals by working closely with allied health practitioners. They help implement therapy plans with consistency and care, ensuring that sessions are effective, engaging, and tailored to each person’s needs.
Through regular supervision, both individually and in groups, our Therapy Assistants maintain high standards of practice while gaining professional development and guidance from experienced health practitioners. This ensures that every session is safe, evidence-informed, and aligned with the client’s functional goals.
By supporting therapy delivery, our Therapy Assistants enhance the frequency and quality of interventions, helping clients make meaningful progress. They are a bridge between the client, their family, and the broader healthcare team—ensuring continuity, collaboration, and confidence that everyone involved is supported throughout the journey.

WHAT MAKES US DIFFERENT?

We’re not just another provider — our difference is in how we connect, collaborate, and empower
We live it as well as practise it.
Over 50% of our practitioners are neurodivergent themselves. That means we don’t just bring professional expertise — we bring lived experience. We understand, first-hand, the challenges and the strengths that come with neurodivergence, and we use that insight to connect with participants and families on a deeper level.
We never stop learning.
Our team is committed to ongoing research and training, staying across the latest evidence-based, neuroaffirming approaches. We don’t recycle outdated strategies or force one-size-fits-all solutions. Instead, we tailor interventions to meet each participant where they are.
Our Therapy Assistants use strategies focused on:
Task Support – helping participants complete daily activities safely and successfully.
Skills Practice & Reinforcement – supporting learning and development through guided practice
Collaboration – working closely with support networks to ensure supports are meaningful and effective.
Observation & Attunement – staying responsive to a person’s emotional state and needs in the moment.
These approaches — and many more — help us design supports that are practical, respectful, and sustainable.

Session Support – providing hands-on assistance during therapy sessions to ensure clients are engaged and supported.
Plan Implementation –carrying out strategies and activities from therapy plans under the guidance of allied health practitioners.
Observation & Reporting – recording progress, noting challenges, and sharing observations with the supervising practitioner.
Skills Practice in Daily Life – helping clients apply therapy strategies in real-world contexts, from home routines to community settings.
Resource Preparation – setting up and maintaining therapy materials, equipments and activities for effective sessions.
Family & Caregiver Support – because families and teams deserve strategies that work in everyday life.
Confidence & Communication – acting as a bridge between clients, families and support networks.
Collaboration with Supports – we bring the whole team together, from teachers to therapists.
