Meet Taliya, one of our Positive Behaviour Support Practitioners and the founder of Kind & Collaborative Empowerment. She is currently completing her doctorate in psychology, with research exploring how appearance-based social media contributes to body dysmorphic symptoms in young women.

In practice, Taliya specialises in supporting young girls with Autism, ADHD, and OCD. She focuses on helping them navigate daily challenges, develop independence, and build the skills they need to reach their personal goals. Her approach centres on collaboration with families and support systems, recognising that lasting change happens when everyone works together to ensure the individual feels understood and supported.

As a neurodivergent practitioner with lived experience, Taliya brings both professional expertise and personal insight. She understands the importance of advocacy and creating safe, affirming environments where young people can thrive. Her journey—seeking her own mental health support while building a career in psychology—inspires her strong commitment to empowering others.

Taliya founded Kind & Collaborative Empowerment with a vision to shift the focus from simply surviving to truly flourishing, helping individuals and families build their ideal life with the right supports in place.

"Through my clinical work, research, and The London Foundation, I’ve learned that hope, connection, and compassion can transform even the hardest experiences into opportunities for growth." - Taliya Thompson

TRIGGER WARNING -STILL BIRTH, LOSS

On September 17th, my life changed forever – I gave birth to a baby with wings. In that bittersweet moment, my partner Kalib and I decided to turn our pain into purpose. Out of love for our little London, we created the London Foundation.

This foundation is our way of honoring his life by supporting a community of families touched by perinatal loss and similar struggles.

Our mission with the London Foundation is to offer hope and practical support to parents, grandparents, siblings, and extended families who face the heartache of perinatal loss, infertility, miscarriage, and SIDS, or who are overwhelmed with fear after receiving difficult news about their baby.

Together with other companies and through partnerships, we hope to provide tangible help—meals, funeral assistance, mental health support, and more.

In collaboration with my other company, Kind & Collaborative Empowerment, we’re beginning by offering free mental health support and resources. This is just the start, and we know there’s so much more to do.

Thank you for walking alongside us as we grow this foundation in London’s memory, bringing comfort and strength to families when they need it most 🤍
